Art for New Media
Art for New Media is a year-long visual art course that will teach students how to create interactive digital art. Students will create animation and design websites for publication on the World Wide Web. Students will use software programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe ImageReady, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Macromedia Flash to create powerful, unique and exciting art for new media. In addition, you will use concepts unique to interactive digital art such as user interface design, interactivity and motion graphics. This course will provide a foundation in the visual arts with an emphasis on: cultivation of creativity and the art-making process self discovery; developing the student’s individual and unique artistic voice; and the elements of art and principles of design. Note: There are no prerequisites for this class, however, general computer knowledge is recommended. There is little homework in this class, however, students need to be focused during class and maintain a good work ethic.
